NYIMBA FOUNDATION, LUSAKA ZAMBIA

Nyimba Foundation was established over twenty years ago by the Patel family from Lusaka, Zambia. Nyimba is an organization that was founded on a core principle of giving back to the communities they serve across Zambia to uplift the quality of lives of the underprivileged in that region. Their efforts are primarily centered around Education, Healthcare, Clean Water, Empowerment, and Conservation. While we were visiting one of the communities that they serve in Eastern Zambia we became acquainted with this family and their associates.

After spending several days with them we got to see firsthand the amazing work they are doing in these areas with their own resources. As with our other associates, we got to see the amazing things that these wonderful people were doing for those less fortunate. We saw firsthand that their mission of serving those less fortunate was very much aligned with the mission of Amy Bell Charities. Then we asked, “Can we help?”. We are working with them in building schools, drilling water wells, and providing needed supplies for schools and medical clinics. We are also helping with their programs directed at uplifting and empowering young women and vulnerable children in these areas.

Together with ChildFund Zambia, we’ve empowered youth leaders at the Chainda Youth Resource Centre in Lusaka, Zambia, with 10 brand-new bicycles this year. 🚲💙

These bicycles are more than just a means of transport. They enable leaders to reach remote communities, deliver vital resources, and extend education and mentorship to even more children in need.

A bicycle isn’t just a tool; it’s a lifeline for growth and opportunity. 🏆

A moment that carried Amy’s legacy full circle. 💙

During our recent trip to Zambia, two of Amy Bell Charities’ very first sponsorships; Ndeva Haimbala (Albertina) from Namibia and Emmanuel from Zambia, met for the first time. 🇳🇦🇿🇲 Both are recipients of special support from Amy Bell Charities.

Albertina received an Amy Bell Scholarship at the age of 14 to attend high school and university, and today she serves her country as Miss Earth Namibia 2024. Emmanuel was first sponsored by Amy through ChildFund International at the age of 4 and continues to receive support, now a high school graduate studying automotive engineering. 🏫

Today, they stand as Amy Bell Charities Ambassadors, continuing the work and love Amy began. 🩷

A beautiful reminder that Amy’s legacy continues to bring people together, build hope, and inspire across borders. 🌍🌿

We LOVE our Amy Bell family. 💙

Empowered women, thriving communities. 🐔🍗

Across Chongwe, 100 caregivers have been equipped with the capital and tools to grow sustainable businesses through the Women Caregivers Empowerment Project: improving nutrition, building confidence, and transforming lives.

When women are empowered, children thrive. Homes become healthier, families stronger, and futures brighter. 🌿
With this initiative, hope feels real and visible in every woman’s story, growing stronger every day. 🇿🇲🌍

Amy Bell Charities is proud to support this project alongside ChildFund Zambia, carrying out Amy’s mission: empowering women, supporting families, and continuing her legacy of love. 🩷

A very special afternoon in Chongwe, Zambia. 🇿🇲

We visited Emmanuel's family — the heart of where Amy Bell Charities began. Emmanuel, the boy who inspired Amy’s wish for her family: to care for him, his family, and his community. 💙

As Larry J Bell shared during our visit,
“We knew immediately that this was going to be a critical part of the work and mission of Amy Bell Charities — to honor what Amy told us: take care of my sponsored child Emmanuel, take care of his family, and take care of his community.”

We spent the afternoon sharing gifts, laughter, and a beautiful home-cooked meal — a special moment filled with connection and gratitude.

We continue to support Emmanuel and his family, carrying forward Amy’s story of love. 🌸

It was also special to have Ndeva Haimbala join us — one of Amy Bell Charities’ first sponsorships — a living reminder of how Amy’s legacy continues to grow and inspire others. 🌍

Chainda Youth Resource Centre in Lusaka, Zambia 🇿🇲

Amy’s wish was heartfelt and profound: to care for Emmanuel, his family, and his community. 💙🥘

On Friday, we attended the opening ceremony of the newly expanded Chainda Youth Resource Centre, a place where Amy’s legacy continues to shine, giving over 250 young people access to education, training, and mentorship. 📚🧵

✅ Recent upgrades include:
• Renovating and expanding the center by over 1,800 sq ft
• A new multipurpose space and improved butchery area
• 10 new sewing machines and tables for tailoring classes
• 10 bookshelves and 100 chairs for learning spaces
• 10 new bicycles for youth leaders reaching nearby communities
• Two new indoor toilets, one for boys and one for girls, improving overall sanitation and providing girls with a private, fully equipped space during menstruation. 🩷

The center continues to nurture skills development, building confidence and self-resilience among local youth, empowering them to create sustainable futures for themselves and their community. 🌿

Thank you to ChildFund Zambia for enabling us to carry out Amy’s mission and for your continued partnership in uplifting Emmanuel’s community. 💙🇿🇲

The Washable Sanitary Pad Project (WaSPP) - Zambia 2025. 🇿🇲From sewing machines at the Nyimba Workshop to the smiling faces at Nyashishi School, every stitch tells a story of hope. 🩷This year, over 5,000 pads have already been distributed, plus an additional 500 during our visit - with 1,500 more still to come. Each kit, made to last 3–5 years, helps young girls stay in school, learn with confidence, and dream bigger. 🌍🏆 Amy’s wish was to care for Emmanuel, his family, and his community - and this is one way her legacy continues to shine: through education, empowerment, and love. 🌿A heartfelt thank you to our incredible associates, the Nyimba Foundation and ChildFund Zambia, for their partnership and dedication to making this impact possible. 🙏🏽It was also very special to have one of our first sponsorships, Ndeva Haimbala , join us in assisting with the distribution - a reflection of Amy’s lasting impact. 🩷🌿#amybellcharities #payingitforward #wassp #nyimbafoundation #childfundzambia Ellen Bell Nancy Springfield Bayouth Kara Kidwell Bell Johan van der Watt Larry J Bell Darren Simpkins Brian R Bell Susan Ferreira ...
