NYIMBA FOUNDATION, LUSAKA ZAMBIA
Nyimba Foundation was established over twenty years ago by the Patel family from Lusaka, Zambia. Nyimba is an organization that was founded on a core principle of giving back to the communities they serve across Zambia to uplift the quality of lives of the underprivileged in that region. Their efforts are primarily centered around Education, Healthcare, Clean Water, Empowerment, and Conservation. While we were visiting one of the communities that they serve in Eastern Zambia we became acquainted with this family and their associates.
After spending several days with them we got to see firsthand the amazing work they are doing in these areas with their own resources. As with our other associates, we got to see the amazing things that these wonderful people were doing for those less fortunate. We saw firsthand that their mission of serving those less fortunate was very much aligned with the mission of Amy Bell Charities. Then we asked, “Can we help?”. We are working with them in building schools, drilling water wells, and providing needed supplies for schools and medical clinics. We are also helping with their programs directed at uplifting and empowering young women and vulnerable children in these areas.
Their smiles say enough. 💙
These moments were captured while distributing school supplies and gifts to children following the devastating floods in Patensie, South Africa.
A little joy. A moment of surprise. A child feeling seen.
For Amy, caring for children, especially those in need, was deeply personal. It’s in moments like these that we’re reminded why her Pay It Forward spirit continues to mean so much.

Following the devastating floods in Patensie earlier this year, these backpacks formed part of Amy Bell Charities’ relief efforts to help children return to school with the essentials they needed.
It’s a reflection of the way Amy lived - with a huge heart for children, especially those in need, and a commitment to acts of kindness that made a difference.
Her kindness continues to be carried forward.

Taking hope further. 🩷
The WaSPP journey didn’t end with the launch of the WaSPP (Washable Sanitary Pad Project) in Namibia in June.
Over the past few days, washable sanitary pad kits have continued reaching girls in rural communities across Namibia, helping them stay in school and continue their education. Alongside the kits, educational supplies were also shared with schools to support learners in practical ways. 🎓🇳🇦
One of the most special parts of this journey has been seeing Lavinia, a former Mount Etjo School and Amy Bell Charities scholarship student, now giving back as a teacher at Mount Etjo School.
Thank you to Mount Etjo Safari Lodge, the Nyimba Foundation, Annette Oelofse, Carola Oelofse, Kitty van Wyk, Tina Haimbala, Lavinia, and every woman who gave of her time, heart, and energy to make these distributions possible.
