AQHA Museum Memorial

The Ellen and Larry Bell family have made a special grant to the American Quarter Horse Foundation and Hall of Fame for the creation of a memorial bronze in memory of Amy Bell and her great grandfather Roy Parks Sr. In collaboration with the AQHF the Bells found Mr. Rip Caswell, an accomplished artist from Troutdale, Oregon, who specializes in life-size bronze memorials (http://www.caswellmonuments.com). The Bells and the AQHF have commissioned a life-size bronze statue in memory of their daughter Amy Bell and Ellen’s grandfather, Mr. Roy Parks Sr. Roy Sr. was a long time member of the board of directors of the American Quarter Horse Association and served as its president in 1960. This bronze memorial, which depicts Roy Sr. “passing on” a quarter horse filly to Amy, represents the Parks and Bell families love for and life-long commitment to breeding the American Quarter Horse.

Roy, who was also a past president of the Texas & Southwest Cattle Raisers Association, loved the American Quarter Horse. Amy loved the American Quarter Horse. It is only fitting that Ellen and Larry, along with their sons, Matthew Bell and Brian Bell and their families have commissioned this bronze to honor Roy and Amy. The bronze will be displayed on the grounds of the American Quarter Horse Museum and Hall of Fame in Amarillo, TX.
