SCI BELL FAMILY BLUE BAG PROJECT - THROUGHOUT THE GLOBE
The major objective of the SCI Foundation is to provide Humanitarian Services to people and communities worldwide. In 2015 the Bell family joined with the SCI Foundation in support of their Humanitarian Services program by making a major funding commitment to what is now known as the Bell Family Blue Bag – “Pay It Forward” initiative. It is the goal of this program to make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate by delivering needed supplies and support via a “Blue Bag” throughout the world.

Earlier this month, the Faulkner family and fellow Texas hunters made a meaningful stop during their trip to South Africa, 🇿🇦 delivering Amy Bell Blue Bags to the students of Laerskool Tosca.
Each bag was packed with essential school supplies and sports gear, but more than that, it carried a message: "You are seen. You are supported. You matter." 🩷🩷
Thank you, Jenny Driver and Tori Klepac Faulkner, for paying it forward and leaving a bit of your heart in South Africa. The Bell Family Blue Bag Program continues to remind children around the world that they are seen, valued, and supported.

The PHASA Foundation’s annual support for Amy Bell Charities - South Africa plays a key role in ensuring the success of these programs, and their unwavering support continues to have a significant impact on the Cradock community and the region. Africans are known for their ingenuity. When real balls are not available, they bunch plastic bags into the shape of a ball using binding twine. See picture.
Along with keeping a few balls tucked away in the Land Cruiser for just such occasions as this, we gave a ball to each staff member at camp. They all have kids living nearby in the village of Masoka.
So who is Amy Bell Charities and what is the Blue Bag Programl? Amy Bell was a horsewoman, huntress, traveler, and philanthropist who passed away unexpectedly at age 33. During her short life, she was dedicated to improving the lives of those less fortunate, especially children. Before dying, Amy provided instructions on how to continue the projects that she started. Amy’s family and friends honor her wishes by supporting Amy’s projects and continuing her “Pay-it-forward” legacy. Since humanitarian services is a major objective of the Safari Club International - SCI , the Safari Club International Foundation joined with the Bell family to help fund the program. Through the initiative, hunting families, outfitters, and friends promote a “Pay It Forward” spirit by taking the contents (medical and school supplies, toys, and other treats) directly to school, clinics, churches, orphanages, and communities in need.
NOTE: You can buy soccer balls in bulk…along with pumps…and blow them up once you arrive in country.

Truly, it gives more joy to us than even the kids. When driving by the kids on following days (We were in a CAMPFIRE area so we traveled through the village often) it brought a HUGE smile to my face watching them play with the balls we gave them.

We were so blessed to meet this newest group of "Amy's Angels" at the ChildFund Zambia Youth Resource Center in Chainda Zambia. In addition to meeting this wonderful group of young leaders in this Resource Center we made time to deliver a Bell Family Blue Bag that included a lengthy list of teaching and educational supplies along with multiple board games, recreational items and other items. 🖍️📖🧩 These items will support not only the after school programs and leadership training programs, but will also support the sewing center program as well as the butchery program that all take place in this center. 👏🏻💙
In addition to these Blue Bag items our leadership team also hosted a distribution of the WaSPP kits to several young women who are involved in the programs of this wonderful Community Resource Center. 💃🏼 This distribution of these washable sanitary pad kits will continue over the next several weeks and months as we use this resource center to coordinate the WaSPP pad distribution in multiple schools in this Chainda district.
It is our goal to empower all the young women in this district by enabling them to maintain a full-time school schedule and provide them with an equal opportunity at their upper school education. 🏫🫶🏾
